Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Diplio collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. Diplio ("we", "us") is operated by an individual sole proprietor based in Israel. If you have any questions, contact us at guybarazani@icloud.com.

1. What Diplio does

Diplio is a web app that turns rough notes into polished messages using artificial intelligence. You type or paste text, and Diplio returns suggested rewrites. You can use a limited free tier or subscribe to a paid Premium plan.

We do not ask for or intentionally collect sensitive personal information. Please avoid pasting passwords, financial account numbers, government IDs, or other highly sensitive data into the app.

3. How your content is processed

When you ask Diplio to rewrite or analyse text, that text is sent to our AI processing provider (Anthropic, the maker of Claude) to generate the response. Your content is transmitted securely and used to produce your result. We do not use your message content to train our own models, and we do not sell it.

4. Local storage on your device

Diplio stores some information directly in your browser (using local storage) rather than on our servers — for example your Premium license key, your weekly usage count, and any drafts you save. This data stays on your device and is cleared if you clear your browser data. Diplio does not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

5. Third-party services we rely on

• Anthropic (Claude) — generates the AI replies, summaries and translations from the text you submit.
• Groq — transcribes audio (voice messages) to text, only when you ask Diplio to reply to a voice note, so the AI can understand what was said.
• Lemon Squeezy — our payment provider and Merchant of Record. They handle checkout, billing, taxes, and license keys, and process the payment details you enter. See their own privacy policy for how they handle that data.
• Netlify — hosts the website and serves the app.

Each of these providers processes data under their own privacy terms. We share only what is needed for the service to function.

6. Payments

Paid subscriptions are sold and processed by Lemon Squeezy as the Merchant of Record. When you subscribe, your payment and billing information is entered into and handled by Lemon Squeezy — we never see or store your full card details. Your purchase generates a license key that unlocks Premium in the app.

7. Data retention

Message content is processed to create your result and is not retained by us as a stored profile of you. Information kept in your browser's local storage remains until you clear it. Payment and subscription records are retained by our payment provider as required for billing and legal compliance.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, email guybarazani@icloud.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. You can remove locally stored data at any time by clearing your browser data or using the "remove Premium from this device" option in the app.

9. Children

Diplio is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use reputable providers and secure (HTTPS) connections to protect data in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to safeguard your information.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be reflected on this page.

12. Browser extension (Diplio for WhatsApp & Gmail)

Diplio offers an optional Chrome extension. If you install it, it adds a Diplio button inside WhatsApp Web (web.whatsapp.com) and Gmail (mail.google.com). The extension does nothing until you click that button — it never reads or sends anything on its own, and it does not run in the background.

• What it reads: only when you click the Diplio button, it reads the single conversation or email thread you currently have open — its messages, and any photos, PDF documents or voice messages shared within it — so it can suggest your reply (or, if you choose, summarize or translate it). To read a PDF it briefly opens that file's in-page preview and closes it; nothing is downloaded to your device. It does not read your other chats or emails, your contact list, your account credentials, or anything outside the conversation you have open.
• Where it goes: the content of that open conversation — the text, and any photos, PDF or voice message in it — is sent securely over HTTPS to Diplio's server, which forwards it to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate your reply, summary or translation. If the message you are replying to is a voice note, the audio is sent to Groq solely to transcribe it to text first. The results are returned to you in the extension.
• What we keep: we do not store the conversation, emails, photos, files or audio on our servers after generating your result, we do not sell them, and we do not use them for any purpose other than producing what you asked for. We do not use them to train models.

You stay in control: nothing is read or sent unless you click the button, Diplio never sends messages or emails for you (you always insert and send yourself), and you can remove the extension from Chrome at any time.
